Search Tab

The Search Tab allows you to perform a Search of your Results based on a number of different filter options to find the precise set of Results that you are looking for. It includes the ability to drill down into your results based on Date & Time, Keywords, Folder / Tags & Ratings, Location & Language, Category & Type and Other Special Criteria. As you select your Search criteria, you choices will appear in the “Current Search Criteria” box on the right side of the screen. When you have selected all your Search criteria, you can either “Save” the Search as a Report, or you can click on the Submit button and view the Results of your Search. You can also “Reset” your Search criteria at any time by clicking on the “Reset Search” button at the bottom of the “Current Search Criteria” box.

Date & Time

To filter your Results based on date and time, you can either select the Date by using the Calendar for both the “From:” and the “To:” dates or you can select a look back based on a Selected Dayspan or Hourspan. To use the Dayspan drop down, simply click on the down arrow to the right of the words “Select Dayspan” and choose the appropriate look back day range. To use the Hourspan drop down, simply click on the down arrow to the right of the words “Select Hourspan” and choose the appropriate look back hour range.

Keyword

To filter your Results based on Keywords, simply choose the Keyword or Keywords that you want to include in your Search. To select more than one Keyword, hold down the [Ctrl] key and click on each of the Keywords you want to select. As you select your Keywords, your selections will appear in the “Current Search Criteria” box on the right side of the screen.

Folder / Tag & Rating

To filter your Results based on Folders / Tags or Ratings or both, simply choose the Folders / Tags or Ratings that you want to include in your Search. To select more than one, hold down the [Ctrl] key and click on each of the choices you want to select. As you select your choices, your selections will appear in the “Current Search Criteria” box on the right side of the screen.

Location & Language

To filter your Results based on States / Provinces or Country or Language or all of them, simply choose the States / Provinces or Country or Language that you want to include in your Search. To select more than one, hold down the [Ctrl] key and click on each of the choices you want to select. As you select your choices, your selections will appear in the “Current Search Criteria” box on the right side of the screen.

Category & Type

To filter your Results based on Source Category or Source Type or Source Information Type or all of them, simply choose the Source Category or Source Type or Source Information Type that you want to include in your Search. To select more than one, hold down the [Ctrl] key and click on each of the choices you want to select. As you select your choices, your selections will appear in the “Current Search Criteria” box on the right side of the screen.

Other Search Criteria

You can filter your Results by using some of the special features found in the “Other” section of the Search Tab. This includes the ability to Search through the Headlines of all the Results to find specific text in the Headline. You can also apply “Special” filters that are Custom Source Packages that have been added to your account, such as the “Top Tech Blogs”. In addition, the Search Results can filter out Simple Mentions and Order the Results by most recent, most relevant, state name, source name, headline, Alexa rank ascending, and Alexa rank descending. You can also filter results by selecting a Circulation Range, which is based on the Print Circulation for News Sources.
