Keyword Manager
The Keyword Manager displays all the Keywords that you have in your account. A "keyword" can be made up of a single word or phrase, or may consist of complex search criteria, based on your need.
Keyword Action Column
There are several Action Items in the Keyword Manager you can select for your Keywords including the ability to Edit the Keyword and Delete the Keyword from your Account.
Action – Edit Keyword
This enables you--with a click from the drop-down--to edit another keyword in your keyword list. Please note: this will take you away from the form that enables you to create a NEW keyword.
Action – Delete Keyword
If you want to Delete a keyword, you can do so by selecting the Delete button in the column titled “Action” found in the last column on the right. This will launch a pop up confirmation dialogue box where you need to confirm that you want to Delete the keyword. It will include a warning that notifies you that when you delete a keyword from your account, any results that match only the deleted keyword will also be removed from your account. This change will take effect immediately.
Action - Create Keyword
If you want to Create a New Keyword, simply click on the button at the top of the page that says “+ Create Keyword.”
Enter New Keyword Name
This box is purely a label. Nothing you add into this box will be monitored for the keyword. It is how you will recognize the keyword in your results.
Entering Your Search Criteria
ALL of these words:
Anything you put into this box MUST be in the article or social media result.
Please add each word or phrase separately.
EXAMPLE: Boston Red Sox
You would type in: Boston Red Sox
Then you would click on the "Add" button to the right.
Making the search case-sensitive:
It doesn't matter how you type in a word or phrase; the system doesn't do a case-sensitive search UNLESS you force it to do this.
You can make the search case-sensitive by clicking on the "Cs" button before adding it.
Please note: Be sure to capitalize the word (or leave it lower case) as appropriate. The system will literally look for what you add in the case-sensitive search.
ANY of these words:
This box is for words that could be contained within the article of social media result, but not all of them have to be contained within it.
In other words, this is the "OR" box.
For example, if you needed to find "Boston Red Sox" OR "New York Yankees", you would want to add both phrases to this box only.
By design, this box should have more than one option in it.
NONE of these words:
Please be careful with this option. Anything you add into this box will cause the system to skip any article or social media option that contains that word or group of words.
Cs Button:
This means "case-sensitive." In other words, by clicking this button, you are asking the system to find the word or phrase EXACTLY as you have entered it--with lower- or upper-case letters.
" " Button:
This means 'put quotation marks around the word or phrase'. This is particularly important if you want to make sure that no other variation of the word is found.
Our system literally looks for that sequence of letters if you do not include quotation marks around it.
For example, if you add 'economic' without quotation marks, the system will find these variations:
economics
economical
economically
uneconomical, etc.
It would not, however, find 'economist', because this has a different series of letters.

By default, the keywords will include all traditional online media monitored within the proprietary database. This includes online news (large and small newspapers, magazines, trade press, TV and radio sites for their text and transcripts only, and any other online news publication); government websites; policy websites (think tanks, advocacy groups, .org's, etc.); and blogs.
You can choose not to have your keyword search traditional media. Please uncheck this option and move on to the next step to choose social media.
