Results Tab

The Results Tab section displays the current Results in your account. It also provides you with a number of utilities to allow you to either drill down into your Results for more in-depth analysis or to expand your view of your Results. It also includes the ability to work with your individual Results so you can add Sentiment to your Results by Rating them Positive, Negative or Neutral, Categorize your Results by adding Tags, and adding Notes to your Results. To help prioritize the viewing of your Results, there is also the ability to sort the Results or to exclude Simple Mention results.

Sorting Results

There is a drop down box on the right side of the screen above the first result displayed that allows you to choose a method to sort the current Results on your screen. The sorting options include: most recent, most relevant, state name, source name, headline and Alexa rank. Simply choose the sorting method you desire and a new display of your current Results will be shown with your Results sorted. Note: By default the Results are show sorted by date, with the most recent Result shown first.

Simple Mentions

There is a drop down box on the left side of the screen above the first result displayed that allows you to include or exclude the Simple Mention Results from your Results. This is a great way to prioritize the viewing of your Results if you have a large quantity of Results. By selecting Exclude Simple Mentions, the system will display only your current Results that have mentioned your Keyword more than once in the article or post that was found. Note: By default the Results are shown with Simple Mention Results being displayed.

Save Results as a Report

You can save the current view of your Results as a Report simply by clicking the “Save Report” hyperlinked text at the top of the page above the words “Customized Results”. This is especially helpful if you Sort your Results and / or exclude Simple Mentions as a method of prioritizing your viewing of Results. By saving the modified view of the Results as a Report, you will be able to quickly view your Results by selecting that Report from either the “Report Tab” or by using the “View Reports” drop down box found in the Left Side Bar.

Export Results - RSS

Our system provides the ability to export your Results via the industry standard RSS format so that you can incorporate it into your own RSS reader or other internal systems at your organization. To access your Results via RSS, simply click on the “RSS” hyperlinked text at the top of the page above the words “Customized Results”. This will bring up the RSS Results in your browser. From there you can “subscribe” to the RSS feed with the RSS reader of choice.

Export Results - XML

Our system also provides the ability to export your Results via an XML format that has additional fields that are not RSS compliant. This feature is only available to our Team Edition clients. To access your Results via XML, simply click on the “XML” hyperlinked text at the top of the page above the words “Customized Results”. This will bring up the XML Results in your browser.

Export Results - Spreadsheet

Our system provides the ability to export your Results in a Spreadsheet format. You have the option to save your Results in our Default Spreadsheet template or you can customize your Spreadsheet Results by choosing the fields you want to include or exclude from the Spreadsheet. You can also choose to save your spreadsheet as a CSV format in either the Default option or a customized option. To save your Results as a spreadsheet, mouse over the “Spreadsheet” hyperlinked text and click on your choice of options. The system will generate your Spreadsheet while you wait and it will notify you when it is done processing so that you can then open it directly or save it to your desktop. Note: If you have a large number of Results that you are saving to a Spreadsheet, it may take a fair amount of time for the system to generate the results, so please be patient.

Export Results - PDF

Our system provides the ability to export your Results in a PDF format. It will produce a PDF document that will show your Results in the same way they appear on your screen. To save your Results as a PDF, simply click on the “PDF” hyperlinked text and the system will generate your PDF while you wait. You will be notified when it is done processing so that you can then open it directly or save it to your desktop. Note: If you have a large number of Results that you are saving to a PDF, it may take a fair amount of time for the system to generate the results, so please be patient.

Export Results – Simple Chart

Our system allows you to view your Results in a graphical representation. Simply click on the “Simple Chart” hyperlinked text at the top of the Results page above the words “Customized Results” and your Results will be displayed in graphical format through a bar chart. The default view of your Results will display the total number of Results by Date. However, at the top of the Results are the hyperlinked text to allow you to change your Result criteria for the Simple Chart so that you can view your Results by Keyword, State/Province, Countries, Source Name, and Source Type Chart. There is even the ability to see the Results in a Geographic Map. The Map options include the United States, Canada, US & Canada, and the entire World. With all of the Simple Charts and Simple Maps, you can change your Results Time View to look back a set number of hours or a select number of days.

Export Results – Simple Map

Our system also allows you to view your Results in a Geographical representation. To view your Results in a geographic map, mouse over the “Simple Map” hyperlinked text and click on your choice of options. Your geographical map options include the United States, Canada, US & Canada, and the entire World. After you click on your choice, your will see your Results displayed in a geographic map. Please note: If a source does not have a geographic state, province, or country associated with it in our database, the Result cannot appear in the geographic map. Also, while the map is displayed, you can change your Time View to see a geographic representation of your Results looking back a specific number of hours, days or since your last login.

Change Results View – Last Hour(s) or Days

You can change the time view of your Results from the current Results to have the system look back a specific number of hours or days and view those results. For example, to view your Results for the past 3 hours, simply mouse over the “Last Hour(s)” hyperlinked text which is found at the top of your Results Page above the Headline “Customized Results” and click on "Last 3 hours". To view your Results for the last 7 days, simply click on the “Last 7 Days". You can also look at the results since your last login by selecting the hyperlinked text “Since Your Last Login”. If you want to view Results for a specific date range, you should use the Search Tab.

Change Results View – List View or Expanded View

When you first view your Results, the views of your Results are in the “Expanded View” format, which means all the fields are visible. If you would like to see a condensed view of your Results, you can choose the “List View” hyperlinked text found on the top of the Results page above the Headline “Customized Results”. When you click on the “List View” it will display your Results with just the Headline, Source, and Indexed At fields available along with the Action Tool icon set of Email, Tag, Delete, Rate & Highlight Keywords. You can still access the rest of the Result information, but you will need to click on the “+” sign at the start of the Headline to see the remaining fields. Please note: If you select “List View” the system will automatically remember that view of your Results until you change the view back to “Expanded View” by clicking on the hyperlinked text at the top of the page where you had originally clicked on the “List View” hyperlinked text.

Result Headline

Each Result has the Headline of the Result at the top of the Individual Result, and it includes a hyperlink URL to where the Result was found online. To view the entire Result that was found, simply click on the Headline Text and it will bring you to the full text of the Result that was found online. In the case of Results from Twitter, the Headline includes the name of the Twitter account and the entire Tweet.

Result Byline

If there is an identified author of the Result that we found, the author will be identified as the Byline. There will not always be a Byline for each Result, but for those Results that do have a Byline, there is also a hyperlink to their “Profile” which when clicked, will bring up additional information on the author of the Result and Recent Activity from that author.

Result Source

The Source of the Result is listed for each individual Result and the Information Type is displayed in parentheses after the name of the Source. The Source Name also has a hyperlink to additional information on the Source including contact information, Source Information, Audience Information and access to additional Results from that Source that are already in your Account.

Result Alexa Rank

The Alexa Rank is a measure of the popularity of the Source’s web site. The rank is calculated using a combination of average daily visitors and pageviews over the past 3 months. The site with the highest combination of visitors and pageviews is ranked #1.

Result Indexed At

The date and time that the Result was found by our service is shown for each Individual Result. All times listed are for the Eastern Time Zone.

Result Keywords

In order for a Result to appear in your account, there was a match of at least one Keyword in the text of the Result that that was found. If there were more than one Keyword match, a full list of the Keywords that matched the Results are listed as Keywords for the Result.

Result Abstract

Our system provides a snippet of text, from the Result where the first instance of the Keyword was found in the Result, as the abstract for the Result. In the case of Twitter, the abstract is also the abstract.

Result Tags

Each individual Result can have Tags added to the Result, and those Tags will remain with the Result when it is included in Emails, Reports, etc. Tags are a great way to categorize your Results and you have the ability to produce Charts based on the Results that you have Tagged. Note: Each Individual Result has a “check box” in the upper right corner so that multiple Results can be selected and then those selections can all be “Tagged” by choosing the “Tag Selected” button at the bottom of your Results. There is also a “Tag Manager” that will allow you to customize your Tags in a centralized interface.

Result Notes

Each Result can have a Note added to the individual Result, and the Note will remain with the Result when it is included in Emails, Reports, etc. Notes are a great way to add more information to a Result, which will help give the Result additional significance when it is viewed at another time or by other individuals.

Email Results

Each Result can be Emailed by clicking on the “Email” icon found in the bottom level of the Result. By clicking the Email button, a dialogue box will appear and you simply need to select the appropriate choices and the system will allow you to email the Result to an individual or multiple people. There are a number of different templates that you can use to Email your Result, including the ability to add your own Logo to the email. Note: Each Individual Result has a “check box” in the upper right corner so that multiple Results can be selected and then those selections can all be “Emailed” by choosing the “Email Selected” button at the bottom of your Results.

Save Results

Each Result can be Saved to a Folder by clicking on the “Save” icon found in the bottom level of the Result. Saving a Result is the same thing as adding a Tag to a Result. However, some people find it easier to select an existing Tag from the drop down box that is provided when you click on the “Save” icon. In either case, the Result will be Tagged for better categorization of the Result. Note: Each Individual Result has a “check box” in the upper right corner so that multiple Results can be selected and then those selections can all be “Saved” by choosing the “Tag Selected” button at the bottom of your Results. There is also a “Tag Manager” that will allow you to customize your Tags in a centralized interface.

Delete Results

Each Result can be deleted from your account by clicking on the “Delete” icon found in the bottom level of the Result. Deleting a Result will remove it from your Results display and put it in the “Recycle Bin”. If you change your mind and want to “Restore” the Result to your Result Display, you can go to your Recycle Bin (found in Account Setup or from the Left Side Bar) and Restore an Individual Result or Multiple Results. Note: Each Individual Result has a “check box” in the upper right corner so that multiple Results can be selected and then those selections can all be “Deleted” by choosing the “Delete Selected” button at the bottom of your Results.

Highlight Keyword Results

Some Results that are found by our system allow you to view the full text of the Result and have the Keywords in the Results highlighted automatically. If this is available for your Result, you will see a “Highlight Keywords” icon in the bottom level of the Result, and by clicking on that icon, the Result will be displayed with the Keyword highlighted in Red within the Result.

Rate Results

Each Result can be Rated for sentiment analysis or any other Rating scheme that your organization wants to create. By default the choices for Ratings are Positive, Negative and Neutral. The Ratings Manager can be found in Account Setup or from the Left Side Bar and it allows you to customize your Ratings, including choosing which color is associated with which Rating in a centralized interface. To select a Rating for an individual Result, simply click on the “Rate” icon found in the bottom level of the Result and a drop down of Ratings will appear. Simply select the appropriate Rating for the Result and that Rating will now be associated with that Result. Note: Each Individual Result has a “check box” in the upper right corner so that multiple Results can be selected and then those selections can all be “Rated” by choosing the “Rate Selected” button at the bottom of your Results.
